Biden White House press secretary Jen Psaki reacted to New York Times writer and “1619 Project” author Nikole Hannah-Jones rejecting the tenured position of the Knight Chair in Race and Investigative Journalism at the University of North Carolina (UNC), claiming there’s “no question that there continues to be systemic racism in our country.”

‘1619 Project’ Author Nikole Hannah-Jones Rejects UNC Tenure Offer

New York Times writer and “1619 Project” author Nikole Hannah-Jones has rejected the tenured position of the Knight Chair in Race and Investigative Journalism at the University of North Carolina (UNC)’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media, and will instead be accepting a role at historically black college Howard University.

Monday on CNN’s “New Day,” New York Times writer and “1619 Project” creator Nikole Hannah-Jones sounded off on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) leading a group of senators in calling on the Biden administration to withdraw the “1619 Project” from federal grant programs. McConnell in a letter described the curriculum as “politicized” and “divisive.”
