Two Migrants Found Dead in Arizona Desert near Border

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents recovered the bodies of two migrants who succumbed to the heat of the Arizona desert after being smuggled across the border from Mexico. One of the migrants died this week, while the second had been dead for two weeks.

Texas Man Pleads Guilty After 5 Migrants Die in Human Smuggling Police Chase

A Texas man from Eagle Pass pleaded guilty in federal court to a human smuggling attempt that led to the deaths of five migrants in June 2018. The smugglers packed 13 migrants into a Chevrolet Suburban and then fled from police. The pursuit ended in a fiery rollover crash as the pursuit entered the town of Big Wells.

Louisiana Sheriff’s Deputy Dies Five Years After Being Shot in Drug Raid

Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office Detective Stephen Arnold died on Sunday from multiple gunshot wounds he sustained during a drug raid in January 2016. The detective, on loan to a DEA Task Force, remained hospitalized in a coma from his wounds for more than five years before passing over the weekend.
